Does anyone make Talgo cars accurately painted detailed for Amtrak Cascades?
Posted by SPSOT fan on Friday, May 24, 2019 5:40 AM

With the relatively recent release of Amtrak Cascades Cabage cars from Rapido, and the announcement of a possible Siemens SC-44 from Bachman I’ve realized it is now closer to possible to model the Amtrak Cascades trains as they appear today. However one thing is missing, the cars themselves! Does anyone know of any models available of the current Amtrak Cascades cars?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

There is no model of a current Talgo. There is a Electrotren Talgo of the earlier set that was availble a while ago. I was at a swap meet in Western Washington State a couple of months ago and a guy had a 3D printed current Talgo set  sort of running. He had just printed them and had very little weight in them and they were derailing everywhere. They did look pretty good though.

Yeah, that’s about what I expected. I was just curious to be honest. However as I advance in the hobby I suspect I will want a model of such a great prototype. Whatever, I have time to wait for someone to come out with a nicely detailed Talgo (Rapido, you listening!). A least we now have the correct motive power and cabbage for the Cascades. Thanks for your response Scott!

If anyone else has something to add feel free to keep the responses coming!

This is very exciting to me. The Siemens SC-44 is quite literally my locomotive. I cannot wait to have one in my office. I hope that Bachmann releases it in the Florida Brightline paint scheme.

Ikm very excited too! I’ve had poorer experience with Bachmann stuff but I am a big fan of the stuff I can see today, and a fan of the Amtrak Cascades, so if the Bachmann loco comes in Cascades paint they are as close as they every will be to getting me to buy one!

I just hope Bachmann does it right, sometimes I notice their stuff lacks some of the prototype specific detail I like. That may be a bigger issue with the Brightline version, as it has a streaming that is not present on the Amtrak engines. I hope they do add that streamlining!
