If you really want to annoy someone, you can send them a link to "let me google that for you".

I would never to that.  DevilDevil

LION just googled "Floquil Conversion Chart" just as you have written it.

It came up the first item on the list.

Google is getting better and better...

Hmmm... Let's google "The Moon it is a Griffin's Egg"

That was a favorite poem I knew as a kid.

Perhaps, but the words you chose to use came across as possibly being derogatory.

My oppologies if the post came accross that way. As I have said that was by no means the intent of the post. Let the record show such! Smile

You seam to have misinterpreted my post.

Perhaps, but the words you chose to use came across as possibly being derogatory.

I often have to rewrite my posts in order to better explain my thoughts and to avoid any possibility of me sounding like the expert that I am not. It took me a while after I started on the forums to recognize the need to do that.

I'm not sure I understand the intent of your post.

You seam to have misinterpreted my post. I was not saying that the forums are not helpful, rather giving the OP some ways he might find back his conversion chart. Sincere apologies if my post was miss interpreted.

We have something glorious called the internet these days! You could probably google it an find many options of conversion charts.

SPSOT,

I'm not sure I understand the intent of your post. What's wrong with just asking for help on the forums? We could all do our own research and eventually find our own answers, but that would be time consuming, boring, and often very frustrating. The forums are here so we can ask questions and get help. In this case Deano got his answer quickly and he also got some input from painting experts.

I have asked a whole bunch of questions on the forums and almost every time I have received good advice quickly. Half of our club's new layout has been built on advice from the forums.

Cheers!!

Dave

Thanks!  This isn't the same one---IT'S BETTER!  I printed it out and was dumbfounded when my printer printed, paused, yanked the paper back in, and printed the back side!  It continued to do that, pausing sometimes with the message that it was pausing to let the ink dry, then shut off--with the whole thing colated.  It's never done that all by itself before, though I did tell it to do it on one job, printing both sides to save paper--and space.  (Sometimes I feel like a Luddite, but I think these things are designed to keep us in awe--or frustrated: I can't seem to get it to enlarge or reduce.)

Thanks again,

Deano

The only Floquil paint I miss is their Grey Primer, but if you need to match paint to things that you've painted with Floquil in the past, it makes more sense to me to choose a currently-available brand of paint and simply mix your own matching colours.

Buying 37 different brands of paint (of assorted types - enamels, lacquers, acrylics, etc.)) and trying to come up with a ready-made match is both expensive and iffy, as there's really no guarantee that any of those brands will match old Floquil colours.

Your eyes should be able to tell you when you've created a match, just as they'll tell you that the new brand you chose isn't quite right.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Lost My Floquil Conversion Chart!
Posted by OT Dean on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 10:31 PM

Well, actually, I think I only lost the first page or two.  I'm making a spray mask so I can airbrush a lot of windows and doors and found only three pages of the conversion chart I printed from a link posted by a group member after we lost (Sob!) our Floquil paints.  I've had no luck trying to find it in my back file, so I'd appreciate it if someone can re-post the link.  HELP!

Thanks,

Deano
