This post my not be acceptable, and if moderator removes it, I'll understand as it could come off as an ad....so I'll phrase at as a question. Has anyone ever heard of taking in a model railroader as a trade for house sitting, and does anyone know of any kind of web site or exchange for model rails needing board?

You are looking for a trustworthy house sitter and MR skills are not really the point?

My neighbors' daughter is home from college.  I would trust her, but she is going to the local communtity college which is not convenient to your location.

Her brother lives in your town.  I will ask their mom.

I am kind of in a house sitting arrangement... kind of.

.

My company required me to get a semi-permanent residence in Tampa to cut down on travel costs.

.

I found a very reasonable room in a very nice house, with all kinds of man-toys (but not a train layout).

.

The owner of the house is not married and has no children. He is in his early 50's like I am. He also travels an awful lot for work, like I do.

.

So, in exchange for almost free rent, I take care of a lot of the house stuff, start his cars once a week when he is gone, keep dust off of the pool table, etc.

.

As far as finding someone, we were introduced by a common acquaintance that knew of both of our situations.

.

Are you needing a house/layout sitter? If so, good luck. Finding someone that will have total respect for all your possessions is quite a task.
