Trains at the Autism Ability Fest yesterday
Posted by emdmike on Sunday, April 28, 2019 11:15 AM

Each April we have an Autism Ability Festival in Indianapolis.  My wife and I, along with a friend set up out G scale trains.  This year I also added in my small Marklin digital HO layout. All the attendees both young and old loved the trains, along with all the other vendors and service providers to the autism community.    Here is a pre show opening pic of the layout with my wife sitting at the far end.  I ran my Kalamazoo Toy Trains MCRR 4-4-0 pulling my custom decorated Autism Express passenger consist.  My Regner live steam Stainz locomotive was on display along with some other LGB trains.  On the HO side, I ran my DB class 110 electric locomotive and my very old 3060/3061 ATSF F7's.     Mike the Aspie

Any pictures of the show in progress?  Looks like you were the first to set up.

I did check out the web site, nothing up on there yet either.

Thats the only one I took, we were toward the rear in the center of the show, along that back wall the Pacers and the Colts set up booths where one could throw a football or shoot baskets. If your on fb, you can seach for the Autism Ability Fest for many more pics.  It was pretty busy all day, much larger venue this year with room to grow in the years ahead.  It will be held in early April, the 4th I believe, next year.  I emailed Hartland Locomotive Works as they are in Indiana, as the show origianizer would love one of the large scale train compaines to attend with sets for sale.  Since Hartland is in Indiana, they would be a natural choice.  Many on the spectrum love trains, its very calming for many of us(me included).   Mike the Aspie

Here are a couple, some are from before the show opened, not my pics but ones someone else took and posted online.
