Hi all, I have a Treble O Lectric F7 that I am working on, we are re-working the model so it is powered by the rear truck, we removed the motor, (which I no longer own, however we did try to save it ) Likewise I think I have found suitable replacement wheels, they are from eBay by Kato! they'd need some modification though to work with the drive belts
I'm wondering where we could get a modern replacment motor for the F7, I have re-worked it so it can be powered by the rear bogie, the model uses the dummy F7 front truck to mimic the Tri-ang Railways R.55 F unit, I am re-painting mine into the F unit from the Tri-ang Railways RHX set from 1955 (The dummy loco, came with a shell that was in bad shape, I've stripped the paint off and spray primed it grey)
I've been wondering where I could get a screw for that so it holds the front bogie in, I could probably get both on Amazon, eBay would work as well. However I am unaware of the motor type and screw size for nessiary modern replacment parts... Thank you for any help on the matter
Have you considered simply dropping the old chassis out and substituting a more modern drive in place of it?
This may be more cost effective than tracking down individual parts.
Another possibility is to find another used OOO loco on ebay and do the same, substitute a running chassis from it for yours? Problem is, a lot of common failures are widely shared among the same loco model, so finding one in better shape may not work.

I had to Google all of this, and see what you have.
Interesting drive, it looks a lot like the old Athearn rubber band drives.
So, you found a Kato truck that would work? And you need to change the axles on that for the rubber band drive?
I think I would pursue what Mike, above suggest. Find a truck with gears, and a worm gear, and drive shaft to connect to the new motor. Kato also has motors.
I have no clue as to a complete chassis you could use that would fit. This is not exactly HO scale is it? I mean a drive from an HO scale locomotive wouldn't fit this at all?
Why can't you use the excisting rear truck, with the band drive, and just replace the motor? Why not replace the motor and use both front and rear trucks with the band drive?
Maybe you just need a motor replacement.
I'm getting myself confused now.

Well, there ya go! That looks like a great site for what he's (OP) is doing.
I was thinking that OOO is a lot like N, but British, so same gauge, slightly different scale. I am kinda hoping any ol' N scale F-unit drive will work, but don't take my word on this, I'm just guessing, more or less.
