Agreed.  I had a kit version once but it's no small thing, especially with limited hobby time and no paint booth to assemble, paint and decal.

I believe Intermountain plans to rerun more Twinstacks in the coming year.   Check their website although the Chinese factory closing is delaying most of their project.

You can also check for past Runs on eBay etc.

Awsome, even better as my kit building skills have diminished with age.  I will keep my eyes open for a set of those or two.    Thanks for posting!    Mike

If you are interested in RTR Sealand Twin Stacks, Intermountain has offered them for around 12 + years now.  I have two sets from earlier runs.

I do to, they have the uprights still but the clamps themselves have been removed since modern containers keep themselves in place on thier own.  A couple 5 car strings will look good behind my yellowjacket B40-8's

Check Ebay for decals.  There are some Sea-Land, not sure if it's what you want.

I still see some of these occasional watching train cams.

Thanks, I put some wanted posts over on forums that allow such things.  See if I can roust up a second hand set.  I would order new ones but these down weeks at my employer has put a sudden crimp on hobby spending.  To bad A-Line doesnt do the NYS&W/Sea Land decals, or atleast I didn't see them.     Mike

Early double stack cars?
Posted by emdmike on Sunday, April 14, 2019 11:50 AM

Does/has anybody offered the early style double stack cars that clamped the upper containers?   Like the ones used on the Susquehanna(NYS&W)/Sea Land trains in the late 1980s/early 1990's.   All I can find are the later cars that lack the raised clamping systems on each end of the car.     Thanks   Mike
