Blocking unwanted lights in a DC consist
Posted by OldSchoolScratchbuilder on Sunday, April 14, 2019 3:07 AM

A freshly painted Genesis SD75I locomotive is second in my DC consist behind CN 5607. In order to ‘turn off‘ (i.e. hide) it’s headlights, I have used a technique that can be undone in a second if desired.

The headlights have been sealed behind a layer of sticky tack, which in turn has been painted the same colour as the locomotive. Although the lights are on, they can’t be seen (see video below). If I want the lights to show again, I just rub the tack off with my finger.

Also note in the video my eight new Rapido CN gondolas. These are top of the line as always.
