I am not suggesting that the MRVP comments should lead to discussion. However, there are a lot of what was that thing, how was that done, where did you find that product type questions that never get answered.

I was once a subscriber, but I'm not into building any of their project railroads, and questions and methods that I have, I find answered from many sources.
I also had video problems with the site the first time around. Maybe that's changed now, as I have also changed to a newer computer and operating system, and my internet speed is now a constant 230+ Mbps.
And soon, I will away from the computer and my modeling, as the outsde 1:1 building season gets going.

Comments on MRVP are more for feedback on a video, or to post a question that hopefully will be picked up in the next video, like Ask MRVP or Cody's Viewer Mail segment. It's not really a discussion forum like here. Nor, really, should it be, it's bad enough there are 4 or 5 popular model railroad forums, don't have the time to add any more (I gave up all the others anyway, wasting too much time participating on forums and not enough on actual modeling), and certainly not a second compelte one from the same source.
Questions on something seen in an MRVP video can be asked and answered without necessarily having seen the video - ask clever enough questions and you may do Kalmbach's marketing for them, if someone askes a question aout a method that sounds interesting, it may very well drive someone who isn;t a subscriber to sign up so they can check it out. So there's plenty of incentive to keep the forum component of MRVP limited to comments on something seen in the video and saving the back and forth rsponse sort of things for here where everyone, even non-subscribers, can see the conversation.

Hey thanks for the post! Actually, the episode is not about stringing two strands of LED's. That would be a very short video indeed! Rather, the parts you may have skipped over are the difference between color tempuratures for lighting, types of lighting to use, and the technical differences between LED strips. There's a segment of our community that wants to know that sort of thing, so I make sure and include it.

I'm in construction and I have been using drill bits for decades just like eveyone else. Never seen a drill bit to that before. Scared the heck out of me for a second there! LOL!
BigDaddy I wish you would have discussed how big a transformer one needs for the LED strips. We had a thread on that here, and I wish I payed attention. It might matter for the guys with the larger multi-level layouts.

Actually, I just bought the transformer they make for that set of lights. I am not certain how much they draw, but 2 of those strands per transformer seems to be about all that is practical. But, you're right, I should have given those specs as well.

Advertising? Sure but why is that a problem? There are 4 ads for 3 products on this page, as I type. Go to to your favorite news site, national or local, progressive or conservative and there are ads for all sorts of click bait. I'm looking at baby eagles on a webcam and there is an ad for Railcar Movers.

Glad to see you’re still around Steve!
Saw your second video, it was good, but I have some feedback if your willing to accept it. I would like Steve to be aware that I skiped through a lot of the video. I found it a bit long for the amount of content covered. It’s hard for me to watch 12 mins just for stringing two strands of LEDs.
Of course if others like this style I can just skip through it and get what I need out of it. I may be alone in my opinions. Steve says, it is Steve’s railroad!

Once again I really appreciate Steve for being willing to accept feedback, it’s going to make for some great content!
Mike has got it correct, I was talking about YouTube. I assumed Steve would follow a similar format to his YouTube videos on MRVP, and that his 13ish mins video was just an introduction.
I read it a couple of times, and I think SPSOT is talking about Steve's other life on YouTube with his "It's My Railroad" series.
