G PaineIt just came in stock at Walthers, could not resist it.
I have one of their '64 Dodge vans in NYC.

Same here, I had to have one since I remember seeing them often in the Cleveland area.
Great stuff as always, Folks!
Cheers, Ed
HO-VeloSpeaking of RTR vehicles, George's Brekina Jeep pick-up/camper looks real nice.
It just came in stock at Walthers, could not resist it. It's Brekina, 4 are listed, the yellow one is already sold out. The only problem I had was I could not get it open to add a driver figure

gmpullmanHave you seen the new Artitec GMC highway crane
Ed, Yes I did, those old GMCs played a lot of different roles, hauling, construction, fire fighting, etc. The Artitec dozer' showed up yesterday. It's easy to get hooked on the today's finely detailed RTR models.

Mel, Glad your peeper is fixed and getting a workout. Great work with the Rosies, if their hair were wrapped in a bandana they'd be killer-diller.
Thanks again to all the contributors and regards, Peter

On to more great stuff, folks!
Ed
Rick, Thanks for the WPF start-up. Always enjoy seeing your models and reading about their history. Didn't realize that Freuhauf was such a diversified builder.
John, Magnificent trestle!
Missed out on a Sheepscot crawler crane kit, but was faster on the draw with the RTR Artitec Bucyrus.
Thanks to all the contributors and regards, Peter
I took some progress photos around the Bootbay Railway Village layout. The apartment and industrial buildings along the right side grade.
A cut of pulpwood cars on the standard gauge side of Whitefield
The waterfall is almost done; the main line bridges need to be put back in and some added scenrey work as well
I just found this Jeep pickup camper
So Iam continuing to work on a Curved Trestle on my N scale expansion. Below you will find some progressive photos of this project. It is taking a long time, but so far I am happy with the results.

Rick: Thank you for the start this week. That COLUMBIA NEWBERRY AND LAURENS boscar looks great. It looks like something I would do! I never heard of that rail line before.
Casey: Your 4-8-4 is truly a great model.
Garry: I love the bridge scene. That pier is very interesting with the different levels and shoes. Nicely done.
Harrison: The mill scene is moving along nicely. Your project also looks good. Any backdrop is better than no backdrop.
Ed: Your PENNSYLVANIA cabin car looks fantastic in paint.
Mike: The kitbashed boats are quite good. I can't wait to see the speedster painted.
Allan: That SD70ACe is a biggie. Impresive model.
Michael: , it is good to have you. Please stick around. Your caboose model is nice. Thank you for sharing.
Mark: The roundhouse is beautiful all lit up.
.
I completed this SNOW CREEK RAILROAD hopper car this week for my fleet of nonsense.
It is a Proto-2000 war emergency hopper car kit. I was a bit disapointed in this kit compared to other Proto-2000 models. The end grab rails are molded on and train-set thick. I had to remove them and make new ones from wire.
I am happy with the finished model.
The is the first in a series of three freight cars I am decorating for the SNOW CREEK RAILROAD. I hope to have the two boxcars done by next week.

Michael! Always good to see people making narriwgauge look easy, because it pretty much is the same old railroading in a pint-sized form factor.

Just subscribed and found this thread. Some really great examples to follow. Just finished a Rio Grande Southern caboose so I am adding that as my first contribution.
gmpullman Speaking of obscure shortlines (and Penn-Central) do you remember the broo-haha over the re-stenciled (stolen) P-C cars? Was it the LaSalle & Bureau County Railroad? Your models look fantastic. I really miss the Penn Central. That railroad was a mess, but it was our mess.

Thanks Ed, and everyone else that commented on my cars and all the great work shown by everyone else.
After you edited your post, I remember the Lasalle and Burea County mess with the ex-PC boxcars, and I think it was PC's mistake and not the County's, they thought they owned the cars.
I used to dislike the PC while it was in existance, but have grown to like it and all the stuff that it owned.
Regarding the G47, I have at least one more kit, and since the prototype ends were replaced many times during their existance, I will model one with different ends to the car.

Rule 1: This is my railroad.
Rule 2: I make the rules.
Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
Thanks Rick for starting off WPF this week. Good looking freight cars as usual.
Casey - The T-1 4-8-4 is cool.. Looks like it pulls well too.
Gary - Great photo as always.
Harrison - You're getting there.
Ed - Neat little cabin car. I know what you mean by "followed me home." I use that excuse alot myself.
Mike - Very creative. Wish I had room for a water feature on the BRVRR.
Here is the latest addition to the power roster on the BRVRR. This Walthers SD70ACe is part of a long term project I'm working on:
I haven't decided which decoder I'll use. Debating sound or no sound.
Keep the photos and ideas coming guys. Thanks to you WPF is always the best thread of the week.
Remember its your railroad

Nice works everyone. I had some more detailed comments but the computer is cranky this morning and they just went *POOF*
Did some work around the Tefft turntable to allow the overhanging couplers on the K-36 Mikes to clear to let the TT turn.
Then I chopped up a boat I found in a five-pack of Hotwheels. The bottom half is now a small sailboat...
...and the top half is a better waterline model, the other half of the boat is kicking up some waves with the help of some white silicone even though it's not finished yet.
Another pair of items in the pack was a nice Unimog and the trailer for the boat, which fits a small bulldozer. The 'Mog is a little on the large side vs the HO scale Mog next to it here, but still close enough IMO to use.
Thanks for starting the First March WPF, Rick.
Thanks for posting the video, Casey
I really didn't need another PRR cabin car but... this little guy followed me home one day. I couldn't say no.

Garry, Harrison: I must have been editing when you posted... Very nice contributions from both of you.
Rick- thanks for starting WFF and nice looking cars!
Casey- Very good looking steamers, if I had skills like you I might be modeling the D&H in the 1950's.
Garry- impressive bridge scene.
I did a little bit of scenery this week, around the GP mill and in the far corner of the layout.
The Adirondack logging diorama is done, our theme for the history project is how the Adirondack railroads impacted the forest. The history compitition is tomorrow. The small hut in the background was build, painted and weathered by a modeler friend, also doing the project. I also build a rather simple backdrop, not very good looking, but I don't think the judges will care.
Folks waiting at the station.
Keep the good stuff coming folks, WFF is always the best thread of the week.

Weekend Photo Fun, a place to show completed projects, in progress projects, or just old or new photographs of your layout.
This first one is for Kevin so he doesn't pick this as a fictional name on his fictional layout.
The Columbia Newbery and Laurens was a shortline railroad in South Carolina eventually acquired by the ACL in 1924 and absorbed by CSX in 1984. This car represents a 1952 purchase from ACF for general service. IMRC 1944 AAR kit with Carbuilder ends and 8' Door, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with K-4 Decals.
in 1971 the PC ordered 1500 G47 Gons from Freuhauf, 1000 with steel floors and 500 with wood floors. The steel floor cars of which this is a model were mostly used in hauling scrap steel and after Conrail some were fitted with racks for hauling steel colis. This is a Railyard Models Resin kit, painted with Floquil PC Green paint and lettered with kit supplied decals.
Thanks for looking!
