There are people out there that specilize in working on brass engines.  A few dealers advertise in Model Railroader or a good google search will yield you results.  I would have someone that is versed in brass repair take care of the model professionaly.  There really are no drawings ect, even on the newest stuff that came from Overland, Division Point ect.  Or the better old stuff from PFM, Tenshodo ect.   Fixing them and tuning them is a trial and error process and learning thru practice and experience.  There is no "book" or "drawings" out there, models are unique to each run, even if the next run is the same model, there will be differences as these, to this very day, are hand built, one at a time.   Most likely you have some power pickup issues, dryness in the gear boxes or motor(s) that are having issues.  I do not remember if the Endo drive was self contained inside the trucks or the more typical can motor above the fuel tank with drive shafts extending to each truck such as in an Overland/Ajin built diesel.  I would have to see the model in person to solve the issues you describe.  Best of luck, if your on facebook, there are groups there just for brass as well.     Mike

I see you also responded to an older thread in electronics and DCC.  The only thing I found was a web site for ENDO trains.

I left it in the other forum, if it helps you at all.

Help disassembling Endo Drives from Precision Scale SD40T-2 brass locomotive

Hi Gang

I have a Precision Scale SD40T-2 brass locomotive Item 15111. I think I need to clean ENDO drive and lubricate it. It operates in a jerky motion even when it is warmed up. I have contacted Precision Scale but they do not have any instructions or diagrams that might help.

I would like to do this correctly and not either damage or make some other mistake that creates an operational problem. If you have experience doing this or have written instructions, diagrams or a link to a website that can help let me know
