DCS is NOT the same as DCC, and as DeSchane stated some features of DCC decoders won't work with the DCS system, and vice versa. After all the posts here recently about MTH and their threats of lawsuits against everybody who makes DCC systems, I'm surprised anyone even wants to consider DCS.

It's my understanding MTH has designed this system solely on there own and to their own standards. A DCS loco will operate on DCC with a loss of features. I'm unsure if DCC locos would operate on DCS. There have been many postings on this topic. Go to Search the forums, above, and type in MTH or DCS and you will inform yourself of what's been said. Remember, what is said here is not necessarily the truth and may even be un-educated opinions about topics discussed.
