Thanks, Ed! Yes, it's the universal coupling that connects the drive inside of the flywheel. I'll order a pair from Kato, one as a replacement and one as a spare. Good job and thanks again.

Modeling the early '50s Erie in Paterson, NJ. Here's the link to my railroad postcard collection: https://railroadpostcards.blogspot.com/
I had an NW2 that made a nose-dive to the floor at a local model railroad club. The main damage was that one of the coupler mounting bosses had either been destroyed or lost. I never could find that particular part. Gave the loco to a friend to use as a parts doner or fix-up.
Anyway, would these little sleeves be the things you are looking for? I don't have my NW2 parts diagram anymore and it looks like the HOseeker site is being rebuilt.

Here's what's left at Kato:

Scroll to the bottom and there are a couple of sleeves mentioned.
THIS site has some photos of the disassembled frame half showing the "coupling" and the "bushing" (scroll almost half way down:

Hope that's some help,
Good Luck, Ed
Good Morning, Crew! There's two small, black coupling sleeve parts that fit onto either end of my Kato NW2 motor and join the motor and the rest of the worm gear drives. And, unfortunately, one of these tiny parts ended up falling into the black hole know as the floor. Does anyone know what these are called? I'll need to find one or else the drive won't work and I want to see if Kato has them in stock. I'll probably give them a call during the week.
