The guys at Pixar really impressed the living daylights out of me with Toy Story 1. When the cabover semi tractor pulls into the Dinoco station and almost flattens Woody, you get a full view of the undercarriage of the truck.

.

The truck looks like a hybrid of a Peterbilt 353 and a GMC Astro.

.

The attention to detail is amazing. I have worked around heavy equipment, and class 8 trucks, my entire life, and it really looked like everything was there in the short scene. If you screen shot it an nitpick, there are some errors, but that is a stupid thing to do.

.

.

About the same time, Twister was released, and the semi truck that was CGI'd into that movie looks silly by comparison. The truck looks like a Freightliner FL120 with the grille and headlights from a Peterbilt 379.

.

.

Of course, in the world of Pre-CGI, the explosion of the International 9600 Transtar in the first Terminator Movie was really well done. For a relatively small model, it sure got the point across.

An ALCO Century is not the type of locomotive that would have come to mind with Toy Story, but well the pictures prove it exists!

Admittedly, I think Lego nailed their locomotive pick a bit better when they released this 4-4-0 to go along with Toy Story 3. Nothing screams "Woody's Round-Up" quite like an American locomotive does it? (Technically it is based on the opening scene of the third film, but shows that somebody at Pixar did their homework...)

I found out more.  It is an Alco C430. But, IHC Never made one even though the Toy Story 2 box says IHC.  It's a Model Power locomotive.  I found all the paper work on HO Seeker under Model Power when I did a search for Alco C430. The locomotive matches right down to all the srews that hold it together. I thought it loked like a GE. Never would have found it without all the help.  Thank you.    LIRRMAN

Thanks to all who responded. Based on Alco Century loco photos on Wikipedia it appears to be an Alco Centurty C430.  All the vents and grills match. Grandson would have preferred it looked like that monster locomotive one of the responders sent. Alas, it just looks like a regular locomotiveBig Smile.  Thanks all and Merry Christmas.

Does the locomotive look like EVIL EMPEROR ZURG?

.

If not, it should!

Can anyone tell what model locomotive is included with the Toty Story 2 set?  It looks like a U-boat but I don't think IHC ever made a model of a U-boat.
