Spring for top mounted Switch Motors
Posted by BuchananBucks on Friday, December 7, 2018 11:28 AM

Hi All,

I've heard of some folks using some stiff, yet bendable wire to form a sort of spring from the turnout motor to the throwbar on a top mounted switch motor. It serves to provide a more forgiving connection rather than a stiff wire connection.

I've heard of figure eights, Zs, etc. Does anyone have a design for this?

Dan

I’ve used that type of spring with Lambert Assonates switch machines, they come with the spring in the picture.

They work great with a Dubro 167 Bellcrank under the layout.
