Hi guys!
Just wanted to be courteous to you all with a "heads-up".
I realize that some forum members become upset when old topics are brought back or, as a forum member once stated, "dredged up!".
I just found out that all of my Photobucket photos on several Alclad related threads have disappeared. When? I don't know. Apparently the once "free" PB finally gave me the boot since I did not pay the required fee.
Modelers informed me that they have been using the threads and the photos as reference and have asked if I'd be willing to post them again.I have been gradually relocating my photos to another photo hosting site. However, I just realized that in restoring the photos and updating the info, it's possible that those older threads may "pop up"! . As Fred Flintstone would say "Ooh boy!" .
So, in advance, I'm asking those of you that become annoyed with old threads popping up to PLEASE hold back on hurling the ripe tomatoes and be patient with me if those threads do materailze as a result. I do enjoy discussing and sharing info regarding stainless steel passenger cars and am glad to make it available to fellow modelers.
Thanks crew!

Something new happened on Photobucket in that last day or two and the whole site went down. All may not be lost, I saw a post earlier today that things are starting to come back.
In any event, you don't get the blame for Photobucket's shinanigans.

Antonio,
I have been able to edit former threads that I created to replace pic's from My old PB account without the thread popping up again. If some one posts an older thread that has Your pic's in it and You want to replace them, You can also edit Your pic's without replying.......I have also done it that way. The problem I encountered with some was the fact that I had forgotten what pic' I actually posted to begin with. So now...If a post shows up that had some PB pic's in it, I'll fix them, but not waste My time looking for them.....LOL.
Take Care!

The photobucket site seems to have been up and down over the last few days, with photos disappearing from threads during the downtime, but re-appearing when the site comes back on-line.
I've not received any pre-notice of this stuff, but I suspect that the new owner is re-arranging things to suit whatever their plan may be.

I am not so good at all this digital-internet blah blah blah.
Please be assured that you are on my A-list.

Likewise.

Amen.
I understand if someone doesn’t have something to add to a topic.
I do not understand when someone thinks that no one else has something to add to a topic.
I also do not read every topic when it first comes around, so I may be getting involved in the conversation for the first time. Others may have already participated before, but the passage of time has given the chance for new ideas to develop.
If you don’t want to participate that’s your privilege, but I’m sure Steve will let us know if things are just boring.

I agree. I just logged into PB and it seems to be working fine, and any pictures I have posted in the last few days are back.
Don't know about old threads, but I'm not going back to look for them.

Guys,
Thanks for your info and kind comments!
A few years back I was "blowtorched" for responding to an older topic (that I thought was interesting), so now my intent is to be courteous to the crew.
I've been working on those threads regarding the photos but may have to update some of the text which is why they may "pop up" again.
I have never quite understood this dislike of restarting an old thread, or at least the intensity of the dislike -- particularly if the restart makes the old thread a more complete and more accurate or more clear dissertation on the topic. It is far more annoying to me to have to jump between many threads on the exact same subject or worse yet miss out on a thread that contains the very best photo or technique. Particularly since the search function on these Forums can be awkward.
In fact the number of people who bring out the long knives if an old thread is resurrected are about equal to those who express anger about new threads on an existing topic and angrily post the link to the old one.
Now admittedly some restarts of an old thread make no sense, such as if someone chimes in "oh yeah!" some 13 years after the fact, which in turn begins a new round of repetitive postings by those who do not notice the original date (I have been guilty of that). OK that dislike I understand.
