Atlas Dash 8-40-CW Reviews
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 7:10 PM
Who would volunteer to do a review of these locomotives? I know the analog version has been available for a week or two, I have a Gold series, sound equipped version on order, but they are not available as yet, but would like to hear what owners of the analog locomotives have to say about them, I read on the Atlas forum that the rear cab doors are wrong, with the hinges, and lever being molded in reverse, anyone care to shed a little more light on these locomotives?

I got mine, and its a FINE machine, the door handles dont bother me at all, for a otherwise great animal.

Thanks Chris.
I don"t think that would bother me either, I know that the two Atlas Dash 8-40-C locomotives that I have are fantastic looking and superb running locomotives, if the wide cab version is as good as these, there won"t be any gripes from me, thanks again.

The only gripes I have with these is that :

When you put a decoder in, the unit runs backwards. Will have to see if Atlas issues a fix for this. Maybe the reason the "gold" series have been delayed.

Since Atlas couldn't find a golden white led small enough for the ditch lights, they used white (blue tint) leds for all the lighting.

And that darn oversized brake chain. I just take them off.

Fixixng the reversed control problem is easy, just reverse the wires to the motor.
