Well, no help from Walthers. They only sale the whole truck not just the sideframe. Sigh Not spending $25.00 on a side frame.

Thank you all for the effort.

E-mail has worked well for me when contacting Walthers.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Thanks Z for the phone number!

Ed It says Walther Proto 2000 on the box. So yes it is a newer one Bessmer 803.

Hi, Ken

Are you sure it is a Walthers Proto? Or is it Life-Like Proto 2000. Walthers changed some stuff. I don't know if there is any change in the truck sideframes between the SD 7 and 9?

Looks like part Number 584731 might be your goal? I doubt Walthers has anything, though. I talked to them some ten years ago and they were weeding out all the Proto parts. They only stock some common stuff now. If you change out the whole truck be sure it is the 14:1 ratio if it is a newer model.

I have an OLD first run B&O SD7 you can have if you want. Either use it for parts or cannibalize yours and fix this one up.

Good Luck, Ed

Just wondering, but what -is- the part number for the entire SD9 truck?

Is it a "newer" part number (trucks with the helical-cut gears?) or older?

I need a truck side frame for a Walthers PK 2000 SD 9. Only part # I have is for the whole truck?

All so how do you put them back on? I have a few Proto 2000 SD9's and SD7's and have no problems with them. Push the side frames on, then snap on the gear cover and done!

Walthers Proto 2000 looks something like the old one but the mounting point are thinner and what I am guessing is the brake shoes keeps it from be a close fit when pushing in to install the gear cover!

Broke the mounting tab on one side frame and the other one fell off! Bang Head

Tips and a phone number please.

 Thanks in advances.
