Simeone more 'up' on current Web security might be able to explain why Starfield is not a 'trusted' provider of credentials, or if the certificate is indeed invalid or faked. My experience is usually that the webmaster hasn't updated the thing 'timely' or hasn't changed to the latest and greatest security implementation, rather than, say, the evil result of a cabal of Russian Fancy Bear hackers and Chinese government cyberoperatives keen on bringing down America hijacking a free font site or dangling free stuff as bait to corrupt your system for botnets or what-all.
RR_Mel When I’m looking for fonts I go to http://webpagepublicity.com/FREE-FONTS.HTML , but be prepared to spend some time looking for what you want. They claim to have 6500 free fonts. I went with Railroad Roman for my SP font. Mel My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.
Mel,
That link led right to a full-screen yellow and white risk warning. You may want to verify it.
For those interested, I just finished an attempt at a Genesee&Wyoming logo font. My website is www.railsimstuff.com - font: DECOWHY
Thanks for the lead Volker, but alas, they don't in all their impressive catalogue cover CB&NS.
"There are always alternatives, Captain" - Spock.
BigDaddyIt looked like a stencil, it walked like a stencil, it must have been a stencil.
Steven:
Go to What The Font, you can upload a image of the font you're looking for, it'll pull up a bunch of fonts that are a close match to it. I even came up with a workaround for getting the words you need in the font, click the sample section and type what you need, then resize it so you can see the entire selection, then right click on the sample and click "open image in new tab" and download it.

Thanks, I'm happy enough with my small lettering choice, especially as in N Scale it's pretty tiny. The stencil font was what I was after since the MS Publisher version of stencil didn't look quite right.
Here's a link to the page.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
Captain spock,
For some samples of railroad-specific lettering styles I like to look here:

I have purchased a few and they are very reliable.

Der5997,
Interesting color scheme........Glad You got it!
Take Care!

RR_MelHow did you find that font so quickly?
It looked like a stencil, it walked like a stencil, it must have been a stencil.
In truth I thought it was a designers idea of a stencil

Thanks Frank, my bad! Here's what I'm trying to replicate This is straight from an Imigur upload just now. It looks big, hope it doesn't screw up th eentire page!
Thanks for your swift and accurate replies, and kudos to Henry! I tried the Stencil Font in MS Publisher some time back - but it didn't look right to me. I'll give http://webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts-s9.html#Free%20Fonts a try. I've discovered that when reduced to N Scale the smaller type (in my case CAPE BRETON (above) CENTRAL NOVA SCOTIA (below) does best in Century Gothic. Incidentally, that font (Century Gothic) is an ink saver if you have to print documents.
In my case the "&" is replaced by a yellow Maple Leaf bearing a black Lion Rampant - taken from the Arms of Nova Scotia (the CBNS used a red version before being swallowed.) Getting that combo together was a slice!
There are stencil fonts in Mel's link
There's also the possibility that G&W uses a graphic design and not a commercial type font. It's not unusual for corporate entities to use a proprietary design. You may be able to assemble the letters you need by searching decal sheets for the various G&W properties.
Microscale offers G&W decals in N-scale: http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MD&Product_Code=60-955&Category_Code=GW
Most were discontinued on request of G&W but perhaps they can provide an answer about the font?
Highball Graphics provides decals of G&W railroads too.Regards, Volker
Do you mean the big G&W in the middle or the arched words in the small circle?
Could You find a photo of what You are looking for and post It?? Sure would save others a lot of time searching for what You are talking about, not knowing whether it is the correct line or not........I'm sure You would get a faster response that way. I for one could possibly help You, But I don't have all the time to search for the line You need. Help others to help You!

Folks, I'm free-lancing the Cape Breton and Central Nova Railway in Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm wondering if you can tell me the Font used by Genesee and Wyoming for the Heralds of their subsiduary railroads? Many thanks. Oh, and since my signatire mentions alternatives, I've tried Britanic Bold - but it isn't the right match.
