Howdy .... Just briefly .
It sounds like we have a conclusion for November.. ... Looks like we will visit British Columbia and Alberta. ...... Should be fun. .... Beautiful scenery. ... I can share my Rocky Mountaineer photos. We rode from Vancouver to Calgary in 2002. Nice trip.
Ed ... If I understand you correctly, you will start the thread...... Thank you !
Timmy .... I recall those glues, too.
Henry ..... Regarding Plasticville, I actually have the switch tower on my layout, but I modified it
NWP-SWP .... Nice seeing you .

Flo, give the gang and I a please and Steven a fake moustache, a big one.
Work Front Well it was the best day of the week which is not saying much. Had $1125.00 in sales. Just about done with a Clive Clusser book! So not a bad day.
Ed Thanks for the information on the K-4 and I am sure you guessed it was a PRR K-4. Luckly for my Credit Card Debit it was sold when I went to the site. It was $269.00 plus shipping (pargon III) and I think it was a good deal.
Train Front Going to dig in to the BLI PRR M1a again. I think I have to remove the drivers to get to the lower pin for the lower tower gear. Main thing I am afraid of is all the rods that go into the steam cylinders. After studying it a little more, may not be a issue after all. God, 10 years ago I droped a Bachmann GS-4 and had to get new drive wheels from Bachmann. I fixed, so why not this one?
Later, Ken

Two more people got my getup, and we've got one more neighborhood to hit.

Evening folks,
I'm chaperoning my brother and two cousins to Trick or Treat.
I decided I might as well dress up, so I'm T.S. Magnum, only one person has gotten it yet!
I am growing a moustache for Movember, probably won't be anywhere near Magnums!

Must be the curse of social security. I was making Mel Mini Connectors at 2:30 am. The missing resistors have turned up. The buck voltage connectors and my new order of mini-brushes are in hiding.
It was snowing in the Chama webcam an hour ago. I have a friend in NH who says their fall leaves were bad because there wasn't much rain. Our news tonight was that our leaves are bad because there was too much rain.
Edit I finally found some decent looking MR stuff on Craigslist. Looked like Campbell and FSM kits, but the seller says he wants to liquidate a $100,000 collection as a single sale. He said might break it down into buildings, locos, rolling stock. I'll have to keep an eye on it, but I doubt I will be a buyer.
That said, I am astounded that there were still NIB Plasticville structures at the Timonium show. My love of old and nostalgia does not extend to Plasticville. Nor do I understand the abundance of Revell, Plasticville and other assembled structures that look like they were build by a 10 year old with a death grip on the tube of Testors glue.
BATMAN if someone else could open the joint that would be great as I am busy until later on tomorrow.
I'll be up in the wee hours of the morning so I don't mind turning on the lights and starting the coffee.
You can take it from there, Brent.
I'm looking forward to spending some quality time in your neck of the Province...
Just popped in real quick to say I would be glad to host, however, if someone else could open the joint that would be great as I am busy until later on tomorrow.
All the best to all.

Heve we been to Canada lately? Specifically the west coast? We could jump from New ENGLAND to BRITISH Columbia...
Seems appropriate to me, given what I've been working on lately, an article for March's issue about scenery for our Canadian Canyons project layout. And I bet Batman would gladly host us. (Though he hasn't posted in a week...)

I'll have coffee and an apple turnover, please
Ed ... Thanks for psoting the PRR menu.
Everybody .... Quickly tell us your thoughts for November Diner. I like the western Canada idea, and I like the idea of North Dakota / South Dakota. . ..... Who is moving the Diner for November ?
I will have the A LA Carte.....
Good morning.
Good Morning!
cudakenDoes anyone here have a Paragon II or III K-4? Do they have traction tires? Later, Ken
Mine is an old, vintage 2005 QSI model, Ken. It is one of my favorite runners. I had 14 heavyweight passenger cars rolling behind that K4 up 1-½% grades without a sweat. Mine did not come with the traction tire installed. It is still in the box.

Take note:
Its speed range matched the prototype, and the model developed a drawbar pull equivalent to 56 free-rolling freight cars (or 18 passenger cars) on straight and level track. After I swapped the rear drivers to the optional set with traction tires, the drawbar pull jumped to an amazing 233 freight cars (about 77 passenger cars). The current also climbed from .22 to .52 amps.

Ed. ... Westen Canada is a great idea. I suggest combining British Columbia and Alberta for the month.
We still need somebody to open the thread . If westen Canada is the choice, I would encourage Brent to do that.
Flo, give the gang a and I will have some of Jan's White Lighting! Yep, it was that kind of day.
I feel like the captain of the Titanic, we hit the Ice and the White Star Line wants us to rearrange the Deck Chairs! Sent two guys from the warehouse to move a bunch of the stuff around, just great. Now neither I or the customers know where anything is!

Regarding ideas for November .... (my )
I think it makes sense to have a large area as we are this month, New England. .... In the US, at least one state. A group of states would be fine.
Lion suggests we do Richardton, ND.... Maybe, it would be best to do ND and SD together. .... Or just say the Great Plains.
Some states such as Illinois have plenty of activity by themselves if we want to go there.
Just my thoughts. I don't own the forum.
We need somebody to volunteer to start November too.
Cheers.

Yeah, a lot of people sent that tip in. If I didn't have so many tips on other topics to publish, I'd print it.
High speed chase update. Guy was being chased out of Illinois into KY then tried to escape though our neighborhood. All the money he was throwing out was counterfit so he was trying to get rid of evidence. They caught him about 15 minutes later.
not much else on the MLC front.
I bought another tire pressure gauge. I can't find the old one. I am driving a lot of miles tomorrow and I want my tires to be right. I would probably just drive, but the tire pressure light is on. Those stupid lights give a lot of false alarms, but I don't want to take any chances.
Speaking of pressure, my cardiologist took me off my blood pressure meds (Losartan) because of possible interactions with my heart meds. Not sure what that will do to my BP, though.

Coffee and some of that famous sauasge gravy sounds pretty good today.
I got the controller chips for that LED project I'm working on - and hooo-boy were they not kidding when they said "micro". Although when I was drawing up the schematic, I got my model numbers reversed, and ended up with the 0.150" wide (by whatever long) chips, rather than the 0.200" wide ones.
That being said though, 1/8" is still plenty big to work with fairly easily (thank you, Tichy grab irons).
Just waiting on the PCB manufacturer to get done with the boards, so I can get everything put together.
Flo, get the gang and I a please and leave a stein outside for Ulrich.
My rail spike is dragging on the ballast tonight. I was up this morning at 6:15 AM so I could drink my and get ready for work before I took Sue to therapy. She did well today but complaing tonight she hurts. So I guess she is getting better, using stuff she had not been using.
Later, I dont care Ken
Afternoon All!
Hobby Front: I am in a very good mood this afternoon. I finally found three bottles of the rare Polly Scale MEC Pine Green that I use for the main color of my protolanced road. The proce the seller wanted wasn't even out of line either. (The silver is generic enough that that color is not a problem.) The bottles should be here next Monday or so.
My custom decals should be here tommorow so that I can get the new passenger cars decaled.
BigDaddyPeople are crazier than they used to be.
That's not exactly the whole picture, as I see it. Sometime in the late 1950s - early sixties, the general trend was to allow institutionalized people to medicate themselves on an outpatient basis.
The mental hospitals were shut down (cost savings?) and the patients were pretty much allowed to go about freely in society. I believe some of those same patients felt that they were "cured" and subsequently stopped taking their medication. The results weren't always successful.
To think that there are more — or less, people with psychological issues than there were a generation or two past doesn't quite tell the whole story.
Well, that's how I see it anyway...
