I bought this power pack from some internet company called Loys Toys that was the same as the old lifke like cheap packs but it had a higher ohm to power my UNDER THE TABLE Atlas snap switches. I was using the cheapo life like on ebut they would snap so crappy and I would have to pu***he buttom numerous times to get it over. Since I installed this pack awwwwwww man!! These switches slap over over like I am a pimp and my girl owes me money. I mean they are mean!! So I am very satisfied with my purchase for the snap switches. I use this thing to operate all 17 switches I have perfectly. The under the table snap switches ae really great guys and I would recommend them to all. They are much cheaper than tortoise slow switches and are really easy to install. The slow speed switches are great I know taht too but Atlas is cool too. It just snaps over faster thats all. Try the under the table switches by Atlas first and see if you like thm and if not then go to the tortoise switches

[#ditto] I was using one LL power pack for accessories, that didnot pan out, now i'm using 3 without problems.
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

Segregated power sources for HO train operation, accessories, lights & switches are
recommended. The started LL pack should cover some switches, other accessories to a second LL started pack. These too can be overloaded should you run too many
options off one pack.

I split my HO accessories up over three packs to avoid brown outs.

Old train set power packs are GREAT for running Tortoises. Even if it only puts out half an amp, that's enough for 30+ Tortoises! Plus, you can dial back the voltage a bit from a full 12v and the Tortoise will run even quieter.

Power Question
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 10:14 AM
Does anyone know of a good power supply to run accessories? I am looking into moving from my Atlas Snap Switches to under the table Tortoise and was wondering what type of power supply I should use to run them. I have a bunch of power packs that came with some Life-Like trainsets but do not know if these are sufficient to power these.
