ACRR46 It looks suitable for a RR employees bunk house.
So... if you are really looking for a bunk house why not start with a — bunk house?

Hope that helps, Ed
Art Curren's kitbashing book (out of print) has a great article on what can be done with the Edison laboratory building to make it something more useful as an industry on a layout. It is also in the August 1983 MR for those with the All Access pass.

That looks like a pretty easy scratchbuild, Ed: some Evergreen clapboard siding, with doors, windows, and porch details from Grandt Line or Tichy. The roof could be done with Plastruct shingle sheet, or Campbell's paper shakes, or any of the numerous ones available to "print yer own".
I'd guess the cost to be similar, but the materials are readily available.
This scratchbuilt ice house is probably a bit longer, but there was no need for windows. It's also a background structure, with a truncated backside, so I didn't get too fancy with the roof, either...
There is a small office at the street-end of the structure, though, with windows and a door, both from either Tichy or Grand Line...
The main structure is tapered to suit its locale, so the one in your link should be easier to construct.

Which "building"? His birthplace or Menlo Park Laboratory?

There's one on ebay at the moment:

This would certainly be a pretty straight-forward scratchbuilding project, yes?

Is this kit still available? I wish I had bought it years ago.
