MRC Prodigy Advance DCC
Posted by Meyblc on Sunday, December 26, 2004 9:31 AM
Wonder is any of you have used this system before.

I've just ordered it and it should be arriving just before the new year. This is my first attempt at DCC. I keep blowing up DC power packs with reverse loops that we never really figured out how to correctly operate.

I ordered the MRC Prodigy Advance from Tony's trains in Vermont. Got a real nice deal on it ($189.99)

I also got their Auto Reversing Unit so hopefully this solves my reverse loop problems.

Just wondering if anyone has this system up and running and can give me some advice.

For a basic starting system, you made a good choice. It's easy to setup and run.
I had the original Prodigy and it was just what I needed to get started. You also got it from a great Vendor. Tony's will answer any questions you might have when you setup the system, and when you want to upgrade they will help with that too.
I have purchased several systems from them, and have always been completely satisfied. Tony knows what he is talking about. They have BB's with Tech info and HOW TO info.Have a great time with the DCC system.

Great choice! I am enjoying mine, and as you get into DCC you will want to see what onboard decoders you have and download their manuals. Digitrax has a great one called Mobile Decoder Manual. And they are free! The world of CV's is fantastic! When you get your setup going and get familiar with it's possibilities for program track and Mainline programming you will be amazed at what you can do with your locos.

Very pleased with my advanced prodigy system. Easy to use and has the ability to do advanced programming if I ever get to that point.
