My wish
Posted by GDRMCo on Saturday, December 25, 2004 2:07 AM
One thing that really annoys me is that most of my posts go unanswered. In my family when you don't answer someone when they tell you something it is comsidered rude. The reason I left awhile ago it was because you didn't answer the last couple of my posts. My latest post has gone unanswered and I'm reconsidering leaving for good. The only person I can talk to and will answer me is Junctionfan. If you do answer this please say some thing good and put my latest on the first page.

G'day mate

Don't take it to heart Mick, I've had posts go unanswered before too.
The info out there is to good to miss, please don't quit just for that reason, it's a busy time of year and people will be with their families!!

You've posted some really interesting reads before, chin up and see you posting soon.

GD--tried to bring up your previous posts, but all that came up was a red X. Don't be discouraged, okay? I've had a couple of posts that didn't get any responses, or at least not too many. Keep posting, guy. Whatever you're looking for as far as conversation or input is going to be recognized eventually. We're all a friendly bunch here, and for my own sake, I hate to see someone give up. Post again, I'll read it. Hell, I'll ANSWER it even if I can't give you any help. Believe me, communication is what we're all supposed to be about, okay?

As was said earlier don't take it to heart, This is a medium for the exchange of ideas, comments and information. One of my original replies on this forum was of unpopular opinion i guess, maybe thats why I never got one of those little welcome guys or ever been invited to the coffee shop for a cup of coffee Although not a big deal to me I continue to ask my questions when the need arises and apply my comments and advise to those threads where i think it usefull. .I have been lucky i guess most of my questions have been answered by people with alot of great ideas and comments.By doing so i feel they have extened me a courtesy if I have not done so for you in the past then i will try to do so in the future.Don't leave a place where you undoughtly like to be it is all the people here yourself and everyone else, that makes this forum what it is.Merry Chritmas TERRY.

You might try resizing that graphic in your posts. It takes a long time to load with dialup and may discourage folks from reading and responding.

Just a possibilty.

Hi GDRMCo

I did a quick review of your last 10 topics via your profile and I think you will find that when you have asked questions you have received responses. When the post is in the form of a statement "Clearing up confusion" of providing information "my new e-mail address", then you have not had any responses. In my experience with this and any other forum, there are a lot of really knowledgable folks that are more than happy to respond with ideas and help, so don't take lack of response personally. I am in sales, and one thing I learned early on, is that if you want a potential customer to respond to you, ask really good questions. Happy Boxing day (Does Aus celebrate boxing day?)

Hey, Mick. Don't get upset. Have patience with your posts. Hope by me not answering your posts in the coffee shop influenced your decision. I sent you an e-mail. I hope you got it. If you didn't, please let me know. Your locos are interesting. When I get enough money, I might purchase a few, depending on the price. I'm asking you to stay at the forums. Don't let no answers run you off. Phrasing your topic question differently may garner more responses. I hope my words don't offend you. Hope to see you, later.

Hang in there Mick. I get the same thing once in a while. In fact if you want a topic to end, just have me post a reply to it. I am a sure fire end to most topics I reply to.

I saw one of your last post and it was weird. See it goes by what your title says and Your titles do not catch an eye. Like this post "My wish" I was not going to open it up because I was sure it was a Wish list. I opened it up at the last secnd to wee what the hell it was. Then I find out that you are crying about your post. Spruce your shtuff up. Instead of "My wish" It should have read something like 'Am I invisible guys?' or 'Do I have cooties?' LOL LMAO!! Well pick your big head up as pictured, and march on. You can do it Its alright dawg

Yes, Mac OS X does have left and right click. Hold down the ctrl key and click the mouse button - it will do basically the same thing as a right click on a PC.
Sorry for being off topic there. Don't take it personally that people don't reply to your posts - I'm sure no one meant to offend you.

Get used to it, young man. Once infancy is over, it's time to stop thinking about being the center of attention and getting instant responses to every cry. Not every utterance is owed a reply, I'm afraid. That is what teaches us patience. You'll learn this as you grow up.

That said, we're all here basically to offer encouragement to everyone in their modeling endeavors and, being a community of sorts, encouragement in other phases of their lives. I've seen plenty of threads here that include responses to you, responses that show people here of all ages treat you as an equal, not as a child. We don't owe each other responses, we do it when we feel we have something to offer or to take up a challenge.

Some of what is posted in forums is extrememly provocative and gets replies from everyone. Some posts are only interesting to some and get a few replies. Some are interesting to no one but the poster and get none. Sometime there just is no known answer to the question, or sometimes the post is just weird beyond words. That's the way it goes here, on other forums and in life in general.

I've posted a request for info on a specific railroad operation in three forums at this site, on four other model railroad forums, on 3 Delaware & Hudson lists and one mining list. Not one reply. That's life. It happens to us all.

On occasion, there are some that post simply to see their name online or their message count increase. I always liked the idea that it's best to not say anything if you can't improve on the silence.

Mitchell,

Check out the listing of views and posts.

On average, ten times as many people view a topic as post in a topic.

I've been answering some of your posts, too!

And I'll answer any post that I know the answer for if nobody else has already answered!
