Dave, those backdrops come from The Backdrop Warehouse in the USA, but I forget which state without looking up my old invoices. In any case this online source is hands down the best resource for the best backdrops no question. Although they are expensive compared to DIY, they are photographic reproductions on heavy stock rubberized paper rolls (and other options) with wide variety of sizes and scenes. The website is very impressive and the fellow is reachable just by calling him up on the phone. As I say, though, I bought 3 or 4 of the 12 foot panoramas (one scene) and it was probably $1500 or so. But the product is matchless in my opinion. There is a lot of help on the site regarding installation and lots of pictures from happy customers.

Where did you get the backdrop scenes? I have always been impressed with how good they look even though there is almost no space between the outer track and the wall. My club is in a similar situation. One of the members has painted some really great clouds on the walls but that's all we have so far. I would like to use background scenes to do what you have done.
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Very nice layout, sad to see it go, but hopefully the Phoenix will find a nice spot to rise again.
Good luck,
Richard
Dave, Brent, Mike....great to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I will be staying in Squamish. Actually the new place is even closer to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park and Museum where I can pop in to help tinker with some real locos. A friend there has a large trackmobile that needs a bit of TLC and then he can sell it. Soon as the weather warms up a bit it will be moved inside to start work. Anyone visiting the area should stop in alright.
The next layout....hmmm. I was spoiled by the space last time and the long runs available. I may get together with someone and see if we can locate a joint space to use for the new layout. I am keeping all the rolling stock for sure and all features that can be successfully transplanted. Looking forward.
Cheers fellows.
Good luck with the move, and a new layout. I think I saved some your stuff when you were doing the sound car things, in my Youtube.
Mike.

Good luck on the move Dave. I was always hoping to get to Squamish for a look see on the way to Whistler. I have been following from the start on the crawlspace wonder, it was a nice layout, well done.
Are staying in Squamish?
Brent

Good luck with the move. I can hardly wait to see your next layout. The last one was great. No pressure eh!
Just popped back in to the forum using one of my profiles (Otis/Cisco Kid etc. etc.) to link this final video of the Amisk/Wickenburg layout before its destruction. Over the years I posted a couple dozen Youtube videos on a variety of topics...mostly how to use sound decoders unconventionally, create ambient sound systems, using barrel magnets.....but deleted them all a while back when deciding to sell the house.
Anyway, here is the last one possible.
It happens to us all.
(In case you wonder, there was no point making it modular as it was so large and custom fit to its location....and I want to upgrade track and switch/switch motor quality on the next one.)
