So, with the New Year comes now opportunities, and I got a few really big ones. For starters, I'm halting model railroading, for a bit anyways.
I've had a 1973 Fender Stratocaster burning a hole in my heart for a year now, so I want to finish it before I even think about leaking more money into trains. I'm almost done; I just need a few parts and a new paint job, but that's gonna run me at least $400, so all money is going towards that. I expect to finish it around the summertime, so that gives me about half a year for trains.
On the railroading side, my ultimate plan is to kitbash and detail at least 2 units in the California and Pacific colors, convert them to DCC, and get a railroad club membership to run them. I preordered a Highliner F3A shell kit, so that's one of them off the table, but I need another unit to detail up. I was thinking either a GP30 or GP9, with a heavier tilt on the GP9 (for the Gyralights I plan on adding). I have some time, though, so maybe I'll change my mind. The membership is really to compensate for not having any room at home to run trains.
Believe it or not, the favorite guitar I own is an Asian Squire Stratocaster. It is the most beautiful and sweetly toned guitar I own. I bought it used about 10 years ago, and it was the last guitar I bought. I love playing it.
.
I am also toying with the idea of joining a railroad club again, but I probably will not.
