I don’t have any Fs but I have changed the number boards on all of my Proto 2000 E series.  They push out from the inside of the shell.  The paint comes off easily with denatured alcohol.  The new decals go on easily.  I push the number board back in before applying the decals to avoid fine trimming.

Proto 2000 F Number Boards

I have found a good deal on some of these but the numbers in the board are the same as the set I have. With Genesis F units I just use the Microscale set over the old. These though are lit and I am trying to figure out the best way to change a number and still have them lit. Anyone out there do this before?

Can the boards come out without marring the surrounding paint? If so I could use the clear Microscale numbers.

Thanks
