Alco T6 build from Puttman Locomotive Works shell
Posted by dragonriversteel on Sunday, November 12, 2017 7:14 AM

Hello fellow model railroaders,

I have wanted either of the three Alco T6, S6 or C-415 .

Recently picked up a Proto 2000 Alco S3 on eBay. Also same day picked up a Puttman Locomotive Works T6 shell.

Got this Alco thing. Absolutely love Alco/MLW locomotives as my humble fleet grows.

So the loco arrived in one piece, checked out great when ran. The Puttman shell is a great casting. Had to clean the mold flashing from lite housing, number boards, cab windows and coupler.

Also had a green puddy a few small holes in shell but no major problems. All in all a great casting.

Test fitted the shell to chassis . Fit like a glove.

Now the fun stuff.

Sorcing WOW 251C turbo DCC board, 2MM white LEDs and someone who can see. As I cannot see small details like tiny wires.

I need a trustable DCC guy to do the work. Know of any ?
