I also wanted to pull the sideframes off for painting. I read another thread about needing to pull off the bottom cover. Looked at the diagrams and gently pried it still managing to breakg two of the locking tabs on the cover. They are available from Bowser as is my missing windshield and horns.

Yes, the worm gear cover needs to come off. Prying outward and up on either side with a small flathead screwdriver will dislodge the clips.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
I'm working with this instruction sheet
I'm trying to remove the trucks for work on the weight. Best I can tell clip #47 needs to come off the separate the trucks from the frame. Is that true?
Were does one pry to get that cover off?
Thanks
