my new MANTUA 2-6-6-2 has failed after just 8 running hours. The sellor refuses to replace the loco and says I must send it to MANTUA in NY for repairs. Has anyone used their warranty service?

Rick 99 .... Welcome to the forum. ... If it says New York, it is when Mantua was part of Model Power. ... MRC, the current owner of Mantua, is in New Jersey.
The MRC website has contact information. If you email them, they may advise on what you should do.
