Posted by kh25 on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 1:08 PM

Hi I need to remove the cab windows on my ho scale bachmann gp30. How do you remove the windows and is one piece that fits in or 3 individual windows that are glued un?

Thank you

I just looked at the loco at the Bachmann site and the shell comes as one piece. Windows probably bonded during assembly.

If no answers here, join the Bachmann forums and ask. There is a company rep and many users of Bachmann products.

The Bachmann forum is a great resource, and do ask, but, as I remember, the cab windows are a one piece thing that will come out with gentle prying.

I don't see a good picture of it on the info at HOSeeker.

Not having a GP-30 cab close to look at,I will ask you this.Is there any way to get ahold of the window assembly or maybe a flatblade  screwdriver under the assembly?

If you answered yes to my questions then I suggest you try this.Take the cab and put it in your freezer for atleast 8 hours.Remove the cab from the freezer and gently start prying the window assembly until you ca see some movement from the windows.

Depending on the glue used you may have to do this more than once. Two things to remember is start working the windows to loosen them as soon as you remove the cab from the freezer and be gentle with your tools
