Hello all,
After Being into the hobby off and on for a little over a year I finally have the time and space to create a true n scale layout that i can enjoy. however, I am still new to various aspects of this hobby. Most of my rolling stock has the classic n scale coupler. I would like the rolling stock I plan to to put on the new layout to use knuckle couplers for the sake of better operation and realisim.
What is thie best knuckle coupler to convert to for the price?
Also is all types of rolling stock with the classic couplers compatible to be changed to knckle couplers?
Thank you for your help,
Josh

Micro-Trains couplers (the popular Magne-Matic line, not the newer, more limited True-Scale line) are the best choice for most. They cost slightly more than off-brands, but are well worth it in quality and reliability.

Hello
get only Micro Trains couplers.
They are like the advertissement say the "Cadillac" of the N scale couplers.
They just need precise positionning and height but they are really worth the effort.
One more remark, even if they mate with some other brands of knuckle couplers, problems can occur to couple them or uncouple them when mixed, so anyway use only Micro Trains couplers.
Microtrains couplers are the "Kadee" of the N-scale world. From what I recall, Kadee and Microtrains were/are run by brothers and many years ago was the same company but split apart, one being HO - Kadee, and the other, N -Microtrains. Both companies have long been considered THE standard for couplers and some parts, and also have long produced and been leaders in highly detailed fine quality rolling stock.
