Hello; my wife and I have been collecting the Dicast Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends when we adopted our son fifteen years ago and haven't seen any new dicast for a while now. Does anybody know if they have stopped making them or not. Thankyou

Collecting those DIE CAST trains is really enjoyable. ERLT still makes some of the different models of theTHOMAS Collection and introduces some previous outof production items back out for a run until sold out.

TOYS R US had some recent THOMAS items. However, once you collected every piece, I suppose you can start over with a new batch.

Try this web site below for some THOMAS COLLECTABLES: Also, you might want to add some electric THOMAS to thatcollections too since itis manufactured in HO scale, O/0-27 and G scale. A realy cool Water tower and Crane was being offered too at another web site we added. Happy Holidays and Good Luck,

I'm not sure which die-cast series you're looking for. Ertl produced a series of die-cast engines and cars from about 1988 to the present under license from Britt Alcroft, the television producer who owns most of the Railway Series merchandising rights (she also produced most of the children's videos including Shining Time station). These models were proportional to each other and came originally with stickered faces and later with molded plastic ones.

I understand from a quick Google search that this line is to be relaunched in January under new specifications. Here is a site that continues to sell the old line:

The other series of die-cast locomotives are from a line called "Take Along Thomas". These engines and cars tend to all be of uniform length (and all fit into a carrying case). A Google search on "Take Along Thomas" should direct you to several distributors.
