i think that the company that made them went out of business several years ago. i don't remember the name of the company but i think it was chicago international something. i wi***hat i had bought more than one when they were sold in a local hobby shop at clearance. i paid $55 for mine. i had some trouble with it last year and i took it to a hobby shop to be repaired. the lhs owner said he could not repair it because it was not ul rated and because of his insurance he could not touch it. when i got home i opened it up by drilling out the rivets and found a burnt resistor on the circuit board. it was a 22 ohm resistor and i got 5 of them from radio shack for 95 cents. put one of them in and it's working great. i'm looking for another one at shows and swap meets but i haven;t seen any.

Toast.
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

Thank you "retsignalmtr" I have a Hogger 101 power pack. I had to sent it back after 2days. After 5 years of service, I was thinking of getting a new pack. The Hogger 101 handle 3 to 4 locos on a train with out over heating the locos or the pack itself. I had a Tech3 but could not do the job of the Hogger. Any ideals for a new pack.

my club has three hoggers. two are used on our n scale layout and i recently hooked up the third to the ho layout. we were using mrc tech II packs for our traveling layout but they could not operate more than one peco switch machine at a time. but the hoggers work several at a time with no power problems. i'm going to switch to dcc ( probably digitrax )on my home layout after the new year. i've been wiring my layout toward that goal.

They are still around. I recently fried my Hogger 101 due to User Error, I need to send it in and get it fixed, but they are still around and they still service them.
