Show Me Something July 2017
Posted by Lone Wolf and Santa Fe on Sunday, July 2, 2017 12:27 PM

Welcome to the "Show Me Something" thread! This is a place where forum members can post their photos containing a view of the "requested" scene or object.

No "real-life" photos but models only. After 24 hours, if the requested scene is not posted anyone is welcome to make their own submission and make their own request. It's all about having fun!

The last request was for trucks. Here are some trucks at the intermodal yard.

Please show me Autoracks, Piggybacks, or Double Stacks.

Here is a STRATTON & GILLETTE TOFC (trailer on flat car, same as piggyback)waiting on a siding while someone needs to figure out how to unload it from the flat car.

.

The SGRR was a very early adopter of TOFC service, beginning with flat car conversions in the Summer of 1953.

.

.

This is the setup for the photograph.

.

.

Show me something else intermodal.

An intermodal flatcar set up for short UPS trailers. Also an empty container trailer.

Please show me one of your favorite pictures of your models.

Perhaps my all-time favorite photo, which was actually just a quick grab-shot with my phone. I am extremely pleased with how the scenery turned out on this part of the layout.

Amtrak #391 about to pass under US-24.

Please show another favorite photo of your models.

What is your Showme request?

I am stuck in the PB doldrums, and have not had time to sign up for another service.

Show me more roundhouses or engine servicing terminals.

Not much steam left. The hostler ends his day...

Let's see more locomotive servicing, roundhouse, or backshop.

I am stuck in the PB doldrums, and have not had time to sign up for another service.

I don't know what I'm doing different than everyone else! My Photobucket account has not changed, I have not received any notification from them and photo posting and uploading is no different than it ever was.

Been a PB user for ten years and I'm on the ad-free 20 program for $30/yr. I have about 2,400 photos there.

Maybe my turn in the "Bucket" will come— and I have several other alternatives— but so far, knock on ties, nothing has changed for me at PB.

I think the people who are having the problems are the ones using the free PB service. I was one of those people and haven't used PB to post photos since. I now use railimages.com. It's faster than PB and you also get to look at railroad pictures others have posted to the site.

Just for the record I just uploaded this picture and it happened so fast I didn't know it had happened.

I am using the free service.

EDIT: Went to P500 and was asked to buy the service ($399). Why it posted the picture but not the tag is a good question

You are a paying customer at photobucket, hence, no problems.

Apparently I'm on the same plan as Ed, but some of my albums will no longer allow me to copy the "img" line of data for pictures therein, so no picture and no admonishment to "update my account...".  Other albums work just fine.
I haven't yet been asked to upgrade, but I don't see the "PLUS 20" plan even listed in those which are now available.  The lowest price I've seen was $59.95, I think.  The current exchange rate on the Canadian dollar puts that pretty close to my limit.

I have asked photobucket for a clarification of their new terms and conditions, and of options which they may offer that would allow me to carry on as I had previously.  They've not yet responded, but I'm guessing that support staff is pretty busy at the moment.

To clarify things.

My picture posting from PB showed on my computer so I thought all was right with the World. But not so.

Bob .... The thread "Alternatives to PhotoBucket" has posts explaining how to use Flickr and other sites to host your photos. In that thread EC Mills explained enough of Flickr to me so I am getting started with it.

I will take those extra points!

This car bottomed out on the frame while they were trying to unload it to the dock. Right now everyone is waiting for a tow truck to show up and save the day. Hopefully he will get there before tide goes out.
