The December MR has an add looking for a buyer for Micro Engineering. It says that their tooling is worth $500,000.
Did a google search just this minute:
Micro Engineering
hillbilly boomer Here is the current website, which I've been using for years. https://www.handlaidtrack.com/ I buy their code 83 rail, but use Central Valley's turnout kits. https://www.cvmw.com/turnouts.htm I use to work on the railroad and really enjoy the detail!

Just as a reference - handlaidtrack.com referenced in the post I quoted is for FastTracks turnout assembly kits & fixtures. Not actually MicroEngineering.
As of now, I don't see anything up for an actual MicroEngineering website.

2: It's for having fun and enjoyment.
3: Any objections, consult above rules.
I heard someone mention on another forum that the company is now for sale (anyone wanna pitch in and buy it? I'd sure like to see the N scale Code 55 turnout line expanded). Not surprising, considering what the company has been through -- even before the Pandemic. Has anyone heard more on this?
Thanks.

That's a bummer getting hacked or letting the site expire. I'm sure they will come back with a new site and I certainly hope the new one is better than the old one. It wasn't very helpful. Such good merchandise needs to be better presented to potential customers. Great products!

Someone forgot to renew the domain registration. They're still there. I don't recall there being a whole lot of additioonal information on their products on the web site anyway.
Edit: or didn't point it back to the right place. One WHOIS showed it expiring in Sept 2016, another with a correct link to Dotster as the DNS provider shows it expires Sept 2017, so it was renewed for another year at some point. They make rail and run injection molding machines to add the ties - they probably aren't web designers or computer experts.
Edit 2: Doesn't help that there is an EE who owns micro-engineering.com to run his business. ME the track people do not have the - in the name.

A post on MRH website on 05-28 indicated that a local hobby shop had called Micro Engineering, and that their website had been hacked and was down for "cleaning/updating."
Hopefully that means they will be back up soon.

I am interested in Micro Engineering's ladder system turnouts, but cannot find a site to get information. There is lots of sites selling the poducts but a name search leads to a company named Dotster !?! Is the Company still alive ?
