Opportunity to preserve a piece of RR history

Hi everyone:

I'm posting this here instead of in the Prototype forum because I hope more people will see it here.

There is a restoration of a McKeen Motor Car taking place in California as we speak. Recently the restoration organization was offered the opportunity to acquire the only known original engine from the McKeen cars. This is not the main engine. Rather, it is a 'starter' engine used to compress air which would be used to turn over the huge main engine. The current owner wants $10,000 USD so the restoration organization is asking for donations to acquire the engine. Any amount would help.

The engine is still in working order. There is a neat video of it in action on the link.
