Remove shell on Bachman GP38 with DCC
Posted by TimK on Sunday, February 26, 2017 5:24 PM

I want to renumber 2 of these Bachman locos.  Have a blow up of the parts but no clear way to remove the shell to get to the number boards.  Any help would be appreciated.

TimK - Welcome to the forums.

If it's HO Scale, remove the fuel tank by rocking it back and forth while pulling it away from the rest of the locomotive. (It is a Pressure fit into the shell.)

This will allow access to two (2) screws underneath that hold the shell to the frame. Once these screws are removed, the shell will slip right off.

If it is N scale, someone else will have to advise, as I am unsure.
