Not everyone wishes to join Facebook but their pics show a little kids section. You know the wooden tracks and trains that a 4 year old can't destroy. That is nice.

The reincarnated Caboose had their Grand Opening today. The pent up demand for their return was evident by the crowd. Parking packed their lot and all of the streets within a block of the new store. I didn't buy anything because the checkout line stretched around three sides of the store. All in stock items were 15% off, and it looks like a lot of people were buying. By the time I got there, shortly after lunch, the shelves were starting to look picked over, but there seemed to still be a lot of mechandise. The selection on scenery items and detail parts seemed about the same as the old Caboose Hobbies. They look like they have a repair shop. My only disappointment was the comparative lack of exhibit layouts. They have an N-scale layout modeling Tehatchapi loop, but I didn't see any others. However, I might have missed something because the crowd was so large, and my wife was getting impatient. I'm looking forward to going back after things settle down, and the crowds are back to normal.
