Uh. Maybe?

'Cause there's a possibility the springs are working just fine and something mechanical is keeping them from pushing down farther into their proper position.  Stretching wouldn't solve that.  Or it sorta might, but then there'd maybe be a bind.

The other thing could be that they're simply not long enough.  Then maybe stretch.  Or maybe put in shim to take up the slack.

A puzzle, fer shure.

Key Imports PRR I1s Traction Issue
Posted by GP-9_Man11786 on Saturday, December 3, 2016 11:55 AM

I picked up a Key Imports PRR I1s in N Scale and I noticed that it can't seem to pull very much uphill. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the rear two drivers on one side of the loco, one of which has traction tires, are not making contact with the rail. The axels sit in bearing blocks, each of which has a spring on top. Could I rectify the situation by simply strething the springs a bit?
