I vote and shake my head. If you don't like polls, then why a poll? If it's a pro-poll-poll (and a pretty good tounge-twister at that), why does it exist? I dunno.

Hate to say this, but we have had this poll before. You're going to have to try harder to be original.[swg]

Guys,

It's true that some people like polls, some don't. The ones that don't likely don't like the polls that are just "Fluff".

While some are fluff, but some that I've read in the past year offer interesting views from a cross section of modelers.

I'm surprised that more of us on here don't see the value and take advantage of Polls in a much more Practical and Beneficial way. Polls on this forum that are valueble and receive a lot of hits can actually be e-mailed to model railroad manufacturers!

For example: Polls such as "What type of pre-WWII Steamers......" or "What type of 2nd generation diesels would you like to see the manufacturers develop.

Now suppose 80 modelers vote. The poster should then Go to the top of the page and e-mail the poll topic to Kato, Life Like, Horizon, BLI. With that many votes, reps from these companies would likely read the posts!

Polls can be a tool, let's turn them into a useful one!

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"

If you don't like them, skip them. I skip any topic I'm not interested in. The beauty of this board is it's diversity.
Enjoy

The problem with the polls on this forum is that they are for the most part: inadequate, incomplete, or poorly thought out. That said I do check them and if there is sufficient resonance I will complete and sometimes answer them in hopes that the level of them will improve.
