where to buy Hornby trains?
Posted by pbjwilson on Thursday, December 9, 2004 7:15 AM
I've been looking at some Hornby items on E-bay U.K.. The shipping costs from England are very high, especially on a train set.

Does anybody know where to buy Hornby trains. Canada perhaps? Thanks

www.ehattons.com is a good UK based Hornby retailer. They charge shipping at cost and of course you do not have to pay VAT, so the prices drop by 17.5%. But with the Dollar cruising towards 2 to the British pound, the prices to the US seem very high.

Sad to say this is not a time to be a British railways fan in the USA

Check the British Railway Modellers of North America
http://home.ca.inter.net/~brmna/index.html
and look for their Member Dealers section.
They have Dealers in both Canada and the United States.
Some may not stock Hornby bcause they are scale specialists, but most do.
