Rail Power Products was acquired by Athearn some time ago.

Thanks Guys,
Yes, Railpower is now owned by Athearn and as far as I am aware they are not available at this time. So I guess the search goes on. PLS.

Hi Guilford350,
Could you be more specific, living in U.K. it's not always possible to get hold of dealers. However I will be in the U.S. in January for the Springfield Show,so perhaps I might be lucky there. Kind Regards PLS

Check ebay. There always seems to be a few RPP shells and chassis listed.

In addition to Ebay, I'm sure there are a few other online stores that carry RPP products. Here is a listing of their products: http://www.ppw-aline.com/railpower_products.htm

BTW, is that the show in Springfield, Mass you're talking about? I go to that show also.

Hi Guilford350,
Yep, thats the one I went last february with a collegue of mine who lived in Vermont in the 90s and we're coming over again at the end of January for the show. Then off to Vermont for five days then up to Ontario to visit his sister. Hopefully we'll see some trains. We were lucky last Feb, we saw the Green Mountain RS1 in a consist near Bellows Falls , quite rare I understand.
However, going back to this SD90 Chassis, if I can't get one from Railpower I understand that Overland Models do one but I'm a bit hesitant to ask the price
Kind Regards PLS

The Overland chassis will run you a good $90, atleast. MR had a great article in the October 1998 issue on building an SD80MAC and SD90MAC from RPP shells and chassis.

Thanks Mike,
If thats the case then I don't mind too much, so long as it's not over $100 or so.
Perhaps we'll meet at the Springfield Show . I shall be there both days.
Had a look at your pics, they're great. We went to the Springfield Yard on our way to IHOP for breakfast. Saw some CSX AC4400 but not nothing moving , well it was about 8 a.m. on the sunday morning. PLS

Thanks!

I'm only there Sunday. The yard seems to be busier during mid-day. There's usually a CSOR train around 6:00 a.m. and another around noon. Sometimes you get lucky and find a pair of engines switching the yard or a manifest running through. Hope to see you there!
