Customizing an N-Scale Caboose Need Advice
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 4:57 PM
I'm doing a n-scale caboose for my wife's Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Railroad for Christmas and need some advice on doing it right. The decals are on the way but I need to know which way to go with the model I have. it is an Atlas EV Caboose. Which windows do I patch over? Do I remove the running boards and ladders? Help..and thanks

Best advice is to find a picture of a DT&I caboose & model that. You might try Railimages, or a DT&I book. For crew safety, the plating over or screening of the window becomes priority over the glass. You may also get lucky checking out a GTW site if any survived into later eras. Then you will get a good picture into new-as-built and about to be retired units.

Take a look at this web site[:)]

Here's another site[:D][8D]

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.
