With that type of construction and build date, it sounds like a USRA single sheath car. Likely manufacturer was Tichy, for which the parts should be available. Intermountain also sold some of these Tichy cars in R-T-R form. I believe both Westerfield and Funaro & Camerlengo also produce(d) resin kits for the USRA SS boxcar.

Guy, that's exactly what it looks like. I'll look at Tichy Train Group. Thanks, John
If it looks like this:
Try with Tichy Train Group.

Modeling CNR in the 50's
I just bought an HO boxcar at a train show. It had no box nor is there any indicaton on the model of who manufactured it. The model is of a wooden, outside braced NYC car, build date 8/19. It has steel dreadnought ends, full underbody detail, no train line hose nor uncoupling levers on the ends. The doors open and close and the ladders/handrails are individually applied bent wires. The brake wheel is vertical extending above the roof line. It is missing one of the two roof corner platforms. The remaining one shows four boards running from the roof walk to the side of the car and has a corner grab iron. Can anyone help me identify the manufacturer or tell me where I can find a replacement for the missing corner piece? Thanks, John King, Colorado Springs, CO.
