BRAKIE

Frank,If you're attending train shows then look in some of the parts trays. That's how I found handrails for my BB GP7.

Larry,

It's sort of funny You should mention that particular engine, cause it is one of the engines, (SP livery) that I am sending to a friend of mine in the UK. Original Athearn BB.

Thanks for Your reply.

I do appreciate it Frank. Your doing a lot of work on the engine (s), I know there's other things you could be doing with your time.

Trust Me My friend....after I got that Cow running like a Swiss watch, with the directional LED lighting in it this morning, a thought did cross My mind about keeping it......but I always keep My word. You'll just have to wait a little longer, until I get all the goodie's.

Paul,

Looks great! Also Thanks for the pic', cause I was trying to remember the hand rail placement on the short nose end. The ones I have are the ATSF version painted, will have to paint the short nose one that I just ordered, but no problem...I have the exact color Blue & Yellow for ATSF, that Floquil made and the paint is still good.

Frank, it just came up with whatever google search I used.  There's a 10% finders fee (not on the shipping).  That's 30 cents, rounding up.

Paul,

I'll quad dropple it.....send Me Your e-mail....You take PayPal? LOL.

Thanks Again

Here's a calf I was lucky to find in my desired UP livery.  Only $17 plus shipping, needed a couple of missing hand rails formed.  Mated it to my BLI NW2 and added a calf light that stole the NW2 backup light function wiring.

Back in the 1950's, MR published an article on making a cow & calf unit. This was before Athearn produced their switcher, and I think the article used the Varney switcher as a basis. As I recall, it was a cover story, and I think it was around 1957-58. Al Kamm may have been the author. If you can find that article, you might be able to get what you want by following it.

Well what I am looking for is the ''Calf'' hood for the subject title.

Athearn, has been sold out since 2004 and any other place I tried, evil bay, Horizon and any other place on the net that I could find. If anyone has one and would part with it...let Me know, Please. I believe I could scratch one out of ABS....which is what Ill probably end up doing, but I thought I would try the Forum members first.

Sad part is, I had two that I had bought back in the 70's to go with the switcher dummy I have, that I was going to set-up yrs. ago, but never got around to it and only God knows where they are at....cause I sure can't find them.

What they look like:

Appreciate any info:
