Atlas is about to re-release the RS-1. It is an excellent engine, as is the Proro 2000 (Life-Like) FA2. P2k also offers an FA1.

Atlas made a RS-1 sometime in the 80's and I believe rerun it in the 90's. The early release had a Kato drive.
Lifelike produced FA's late 80's or early 90's but has just re-released them. I personally have an first release FA and have been very pleased with it.

According to MR June 2000 edition, HO Diesel roundup
RS-1, Atlas, years of prototype production, 41-60.
FA-2, Hobbytown of Boston and Model Power, prototype production years, 50-56.
This June publication obviously does not cover any later additions.
