How can a non-Milwaukee person find the South Milwaukee depot? Are there any other major C&NW structures still standing in the Milwaukee area? I think that I've tracked down most of the stations, etc... between Winona and Adams that are still standing, but I haven't made it Milwaukee yet.

Tall order is right but Keith K. is trying to do it in N scale and he has the skills (evidenced by his many Model Railroader articles) to give it a go. There have been more than a few versions of the Milwaukee Rd depot in Milwaukee which is also quite a challenge.
There was a platform, I believe, a bit north of the lakefront depot but not, to my knowledge, another lakefront depot as such.

By Lakefront, do you mean their main depot in Milwaukee? (That's a pretty tall order) Or did they have another smaller depot along the lake front north of the main depot?

Bob, I wish you luck and I hope to see your progress (I live nearby in Fox Point). I have seen drawings of the depot, and for some reason I seem to recall that Keith Kohlmann of the C&NW Historical Society may have them. Keith's address and phone number are published in North Western Lines which I assume you receive as a member of the Historical Society.
Good luck! The architect of the depot was Charles Sumner Frost who designed many C&NW depots including the one in South Milwaukee (still standing) which I am going to model "someday" -- fortunately I have some basic dimensions and lots of photos taken with a marked four foot stick (each foot contrasting black or white) in the photo so measurements can be taken from the photo. I think the brick used in the two depots was virtually identical

I am trying to build a model of the C&NW Lakefront Depot that was in Milwaukee pre-1967 when the Union Depot was built. Does anybody have elevation drawings of this structure??? or know where I may obtain copies of them??? I can only find trackside pictures, so the rest of the building does not show enough to model properly... I have been looking for quite a while with no success... anay ideas???
