Does anyone have a source or information for motors and gears for MDC steam? Also for early PFM.

Paul,
Have you checked the product offerings of North West Short Line ?:
http://www.nwsl.com/
and Alliance Locomotive Products, Inc. ?:
http://www.alliancelink.com/alp/
You might want to send an Email to see if they can suggest a solution for the particular MDC and PFM locos you want to fix.

Bob; I did check the Aliance web site, but they had units for Bowser and Mantua only. There wasn't an E-mail contact listed for them. I haven't checked AWSL yet. I'll do that now. Thanks

Paul,
I went down to the basement and got my copy of the NWSL product and price list. Mr. Frederick Martin and his crew do have a series specifically designed to upgrade and re-gear MDC/Roundhouse units. The part numbers range from 178-6 to 199-6, so you may want to get a copy of the catalogue.

I would almost bet that the Mantua parts would work on the Roundhouse engines. You might have to shim them a little.
