I regularly check out BLI's website, which is pretty well organized.

The only catch is that while Sound Bytes are listed for a number of their steamers and diesels, no sound bytes are shown for the F7, C30-7, and AC6000CW. I'm particularly interested in the F7 and the C30-7. Regarding the C30-7, with a little modifying I could probably get away with slapping an Atlas U36C body on the chassis as the configurations are similar-----(I'm trying to model SCL ,circa 1968-71 )

If some of you own any of these locomotives, could you please provide your observations as far as the sound? Do the GE locomotives "chug" like the prototypes? What type of horn does the F7 sound with? Is it a honker or a multi-chimer?

Thanks! [swg][tup]

Antonio--have they even been released, yet? Just curious, because my LHS is generally right on top of the new BLI releases, and I haven't seen those diesels in the display case, yet.

I dont think they are even released yet.

I only have the Heavy Mike and the M1a. The QSI Life Like 2-8-8-2 coming out later this month is eating the rest of my enginehouse budget.

All I can say is they better put some "Chug" in them Desiels =) I could drift to sleep listening to them things at idle in my town.

The only BLI released diesels I know of are the E7's. The E6's are real close to being available.

Wow!

I thought the SD40-2 was released a while back! Hopefully the delays are due to Broadway's efforts in assuring quality control.

Well, if it matches the picture of the NYC shown it would be a honker.

Actually if they have any sense at all they will make multiple horns to match the various prototypes.

Jonathan--they were supposed to come out about the same time as the Santa Fe 2-10-2, but the release dates have been pushed back again. The 2-10-2 is supposed to come out now in January, but the companion loco this time looks like the N&W J. I'm with you, I'd like to see the UP 4-8-2, even if I don't pick one up. It looks kind of interesting. But it looks like January or February of '05 now, at the earliest.
