Most important two things slow/and clearence.Although it will run around 18 in it really dosen't look very good doing so.If you run NMRA 5 and 7 in track centers on double track main there better not be any oncoming traffic in a 18 in radius turn or you will be calling out the brownhoist to put something back on the rails.I have had mine since last christmas and the N&W knew what it was doing when they called it a Class A it sure is a Class act.Bli has done them proud.

Even on my 24" radi curves, the "A" has significant cab over hang. She'll tilt far out. You better check your outer clearance.

Very Slowly. If you use 100 track I think it will run a little better than on code 83.

I have one and It will navigate my 18'' radius curves without a problem.

Probably not without some sort of interference, or, with the long tender, derailing of any cars it is trying to pull.

Question on BLI 2-6-6-4 Class A
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 10:02 AM
Does anyone know if it can operate on 18" radius?
BLI recommends a 22" but sometimes the engines can run on smaller.

Thanks,
